the fashionable expat enclave of Kemang in South Jakarta, Eastern Promise has a varied clientele comprising of both
expatriates and locals alike. Inside, you have all the things that a traditional bar should have such as a special area to
play darts and a nine-foot billiards table. But the bar also has other things to offer as well including free Wi-Fi
connections and imported newspapers from the UK. Keeping with the British theme, the bar offers a range of British/Indian
curries, tasty homemade pies, and full breakfasts. If the smoke gets too much for you or you simply need a breath of fresh
air, then head out the back to where the pleasant beer garden is located. There is also live music on some nights – check in

They have good place for the live music and also the band are good, even foreign bands, good quality.
But sometimes, the waiters are not friendly and kind. THey dont smile expect the older woman with the glasses |

Pretty decent overall, but some of the staffs are boring to watch, i am new to Jakarta and compared to other places this staff sucks, no smiles

The place to meet people from all over the world.
This is a bar run by Dutch people but the public is mixed.
Most Expats and business people come here.

Nice place, I like the new garden that they have now. And most of the band playing live music are really good.  |

Nice place. Only to be completely honest. When it is very busy, some of the staff is not effetive. They forget orders and they never smile. Even when it is not busy seldomly some smile to customers. but have a sad look on their face.
Bring the food withuot saying enjoy or anything at all, just a long face.
I first thought it was a one-time thing. Of course somebody can have a bad day.
But it happens every time i am there. Then i thought they just did it to me. But that's also not true, since my friends say the same. This is what makes me reluctant to come back, so train the staff |

I've been to Eastern Promise. i like the one with live music which is in the back of the bar where we can dance and really have a good time. good service too. even though sometimes the waitress cant hear when i needed them. and i have to scream a little bit to call them. but they are very nice indeed. overall everything is good. the bad thing was only the toilet for women. sometimes the flush is not working so i have to push a little bit hard. and about the food, i like tacos and also the spring rolls . |
