When this club was built by the British in 1872, it was known as the Batavia Golf Club. After the drafting of its
constitution in 1932, it became the Jakarta Golf Club. Locals, however, still like to cal it "Rawamangun", not only because
this 18-holes golf course is sited in Jalan Rawamangun, but by virtue of the fact that it was built on swamps. While Soeharto
former President of Indonesia, golf there often, as so do many visiting Heads of States, several Indonesia opens and major
Tournaments have also been hosted at Jakarta Golf Club.
